Pregnancy associated plasma protein A: an early predictor of fetal growth restriction

چکیده
Background: The aim of our study was to determine the association low levels pregnancy associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) estimated at 11-13+6weeks gestation with fetal growth restriction (FGR).Methods: A prospective observational a total 203 pregnant women PAPP-A were followed up and outcome data collected childbirth. Results: incidence FGR 7.3%. significant found between MoM (≤0.49) (p=0.000) unadjusted odds ratio 11.6. At multiples median (MoM) ≤0.49, had (Q1, Q3) 0.46 (0.42, 1.54) versus 1.87 (0.59, 3.11) which statistically (p=0.05) moderate strength prediction [minus 0.58 (95% CI, minus 1.113, 0.055), p=0.03]. cut-off considered in i.e., ≤0.49 MoM, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) negative (NPV) 73%, 81%, 23%, 97% respectively LR 3.82 0.32. Karl Pearson’s correlation showed (r=0.308, p<0.001) birthweight that for every unit increase increased by 0.082 times (approximately 90 gm). We also an pre-eclampsia, preterm delivery caesarean births. Conclusions: conclude are good reflectors placental function adverse outcomes. PAPP-A, part dual marker, may be extrapolated suspecting FGR. This could guide instituting appropriate feto-maternal surveillance.

Early onset fetal growth restriction
Fetal growth restriction (FGR) diagnosed before 32 weeks is identified by fetal smallness associated with Doppler abnormalities and is associated with significant perinatal morbidity and mortality and maternal complications. Recent studies have provided new insights into pathophysiology, management options and postnatal outcomes of FGR. In this paper we review the available evidence regarding d...
متن کاملMetalloproteinase pregnancy-associated plasma protein A is a critical growth regulatory factor during fetal development.
Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPPA) is a metzincin superfamily metalloproteinase in the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) system. PAPPA increases IGF bioavailability and mitogenic effectiveness in vitro through regulated cleavage of IGF-binding protein 4 (IGFBP4). To determine its function in vivo, we generated PAPPA-null mice by gene targeting. Mice homozygous for targeted disruption ...
متن کاملPregnancy-associated plasma protein A as an independent mortality predictor in long-term hemodialysis patients.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) is a biomarker related to vascular damage. The aim of the study was to focus on PAPP-A and related parameters and their relationship to the prognosis of long-term hemodialysis (HD) patients. METHODS This is a prospective observational cohort study which included 261 long-term HD patients followed up for 5 years and 66 healthy subj...

OBJECTIVE The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between the parameter representing ovarian reserve and the fetal aneuploidy in early spontaneous miscarriage. METHODS A multicenter retrospective cohort study was performed in patients who were diagnosed with early pregnancy loss (≤13 gestational weeks) and examined for fetal karyotype at the CHA Gangnam Medical Center, CHA Bu...
متن کاملGlucose transporter isoform-3 mutations cause early pregnancy loss and fetal growth restriction.
Glucose transporter isoform-3 (GLUT3) is the trophoblastic facilitative glucose transporter. To investigate the role of this isoform in embryonic development, we created a novel GLUT3-null mouse and observed arrested early embryonic development and loss at neurulation stage when both alleles were mutated. This loss occurred despite the presence of other related isoforms, particularly GLUT1. In ...
